Where are the sellers? Anyone? We have finally recovered from years of bad real estate selling and now buyers are literally fighting over the scraps in the marketplace right now. Rates remain low and inventories of homes remain very, very low. Meanwhile, buyers are everywhere! This is a seller’s market and dream come true after seeing a years worth of appreciation.
Appreciation? Yes, that’s right I said the “A” word. It’s been a while and everyone has been begging for some positive news for selling their home yet very few are taking advantage of the current situation. Buyers have little to choose from and the only real option is for them to build new. Good for builders but bad for sellers.
I am hoping as the school year winds down sellers will come out from hibernation. I have nothing against new construction but I am concerned all the new building will create a small bump is false appreciation rates. What do I mean? Builders are always pushing the market with sales prices, in a healthy and balanced market that’s fine but in a one-sided market without traditional sales happening they can drive the market up too quick and well……. Been there done that, no thanks.
